switching fields from being a techie to a developer?
Hi all,
I’m looking for tips and advice. I have been in the IT field for 12 years. I have been a techie and a network admin. But as all you fellow IT gurus out there have seen, we are not doing so well in this economy. So, I’m swithing to learn application and wb development. I have allready downloaded the following ebooks and video guides on:
ASP
Java
Html
xHtml
Visual Basic
C
C#
C++
.net
I know its going to take me a VERY long while to learn this on my own, but hoping to get into this other field and into entry level. Any ideas?
It depends on which track you’re going. If you want to be a web developer, start with html, then xhtml, java, asp, etc. If you want to be more on the software side, start with C, then C++, C#, VB, etc.
Yes, it DOES take YEARS to learn them. Just start with the basics (html & c).
