there are all kinds of e books… i am just wondering is this a legal website? is it legal to download those e books? will i infringe copyright if i download e books from that site?

The website likely would not be legal in most countries with copyright laws. It wouldn’t surprise me if the website is hosted in a foreign country that either has relaxed copyright laws or does not enforce its copyright laws to the fullest extent.
