Is Harvey Pekar’s American Splendor available as an ebook?
Amazon & Apple store have no EBook for Pekar. Would really like to download his work. Any other e-book or e-comic sites out there?
It’s probably not available legally anywhere. Prior to his recent death, Pekar simply (and unfortunately) wasn’t much of a best-seller (to put it mildly). The comics industry is sorely behind and lacking in digital versions of comics and is only slowly getting into the game with the larger and more high-profile hits. With Pekar being an lower-selling independent creator, American Splendor isn’t something that publishers were probably rushing to convert to digital format.
There are probably illegal versions out there on torent and pirate sites. You might want to try those. The man was a legend among independent and self-publishers and it’s unfortunate that it takes his passing to spread his work to a wider audience, but he made some great comics that more people should be reading.
