Once the design of the ebook is completed you will need to convert it into an ebook format such as pdf (portable document file). There are numerous ebook software programs, but one of the least expensive conversion programs is Desk pdf. The company will even allow you temporary use of the program as a free trial.
When working to convert the project to a pdf you will have to consider a multitude of options such as whether or not you want a menu bar, will you allow readers to copy and paste or even print the ebook and you can decide the clarity of the graphics in order to reduce the overall file size of the ebook (you want to be able to email the title to customers).
One point of confusion for many who are new to pdf creation is that in order to create a pdf file many programs will actually require that you click the print button to save the file. This may seem strange, but you choose the pdf creator as a printer in your print options and you can save your file from there.
Many pdf creators can also allow you to make a portable document file from virtually any programs that allow you to print.
OK, once you have the ebook created there may still be a few details you need to consider. The first issue of importance will be a website dedicated to selling the ebook. You might work to find a domain name even before you begin work on the ebook. It may be possible to find an available domain that is a close match to your book title.
Next you will likely need to have a graphic designer create an ebook cover for use on your website. This is the visual representation of your ebook to the public. Many of the more successful ebooks will have a graphic that looks exactly like a hardbound book.
From this point you will need to craft a sales letter with testimonials and referrals. This means you will need to supply advance copies of the ebook to those who may be able to provide a testimonial about the quality of information in the ebook. You will also want to enlist the aid of associates who recognize you as an expert in the subject you have written about. They will essentially act as references for your website visitor. If you struggle with copywriting you will need to hire a professional to guide you through the process.
Many ebook sellers will also include an audio greeting that visitors can listen to. This should be a more personal telling of your sales letter.
There are costs involved in putting an ebook together, but the positive results may outpace your investment quickly and may continue to provide income long after you’ve moved on to other projects.
