Hypothetically, where could I download an ebook version of John Twelve Hawks’ book, The Golden City for free?

Let’s assume the following situation is hypothetical;

I own a hardcover version of the Book, “The Golden City” by John Twelve Hawks. I would like to download an ebook version (as a backup, and I prefer ebooks over hardcovers) for free (who wants to pay twice?).

I would appreciate it if anyone could link me to it, although I would prefer a safe and trusted destination, such as rapidshare.com.

Thanks,
nNJ

For books written after 1923, authors have to agree to allow you to read them online. After all if you can read them online for free, they lose a sale.
