When I published my first e-book at the beginning of this year, I knew enough about writing, but did not know where to start processing e-book from manuscript to finished Word. The final presentation had to be 100% professional, but I would not spend money on additional software. I made many errors and lost a long time but finally managed to self-publishing an eBook – and Amazon digital sales, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords and cheaper, a website created for less than $ 20 including the domain name for one year. The site has a store instant download and can be configured the whole thing with a few clicks (check out MR SITE, which sells both UK and U.S.). It was a learning curve.
These were some of my main questions and how I got around them:
Q: What software do I need for the actual book?
R: Professional designers use Adobe InDesign sold for around $ 1000. You do not need that. You do not need Adobe Pro either. All you need is the free version of Adobe PDF. If you post directly eBookstore as the Digital Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks, etc do not need a PDF, after format with its guidelines, you just transfer Word or HTML directly. Lulu is PDF.
Q: HOW IS A ebook cover?
A: One of the more taxes I had. I did not want a of those things in 3D, all I wanted was a flat image with large writing on the top, as the book covers you see on Amazon and all sites booksellers. After searching on Google and download lots of free useless software (3D boxes nothing but most of them) seemed the best way was to an image of the cover in the Word (I used one of my pictures) and use of graphics to make Word Art titles. It took a while to find a way to get cards on the picture:
Once you've clicked on the word art and got the picture on your screen, click the second window on the 'Edit' box
(Format Word Art). The window looks like a rectangle with three colors with a square.
Then a new box will appear.
Click Design and a series of images window appears with a picture of dog
lines.
Wrap Select 'Style, Front text "The dog of the far right.
Remember what you have is a "document" is not a 'picture'. To convert an image is recognized as an image that can be downloaded from web sites, Amazon, digital etc, take a screenshot:
Press COMMAND + SHIFT + 4, all at the same time. The cursor becomes a cross. Place in the top left corner of the image and drag it to the bottom right. Release the buttons. Now find a file image on the desktop. Before you can go anywhere they must be marked with a dot and letters.jpg that way. Relabeling click on the description box until it goes blank and enter a title budgie.jpg for example.)
Q: How to insert pictures?
Click Insert> Picture> From File
make sure it is marked with a.jpg.
Use only LOW QUALITY photos. By transferring the document to PDF, be sure to check the 72DPI box or your ebook have much time to download and clog the people in boxes.
Q: MY OLD VERSION OF SPEECH DOES NOT HAVE TO TURN MY CENTER TEXT Adobe PDF?
Download Open Office (free). Performing covers of Open Office is a bit more complicated because it is more technically advanced Word. I found it easier to do my covers in the Word and the transfer to Open Office.
Q: WHAT ABOUT ISBN? You have to buy in bulk that's expensive!
Every printed book sold in a store and / or stored in a public library must have an ISBN number and barcode. ISBN represents the International Standard Book Number. The ISBN registration agency in charge of Nielsen reaches more than 100 countries around the world. You can buy your own ISBN if you want to give his book a identity, but you have to buy in batches of 10, which costs £ 111.86 / 163.00 dollars. The good news is no need ebooks. There are advantages, but not have to have one.
Q: How did you understand all formats – ETC EPUB?.

Q: I AM AN AUTHOR United Kingdom but all these sites are American
Spanish authors can sell the sites mentioned above. It is worth doing as electronic books have not taken off in the UK yet. The new Amazon Kindle 70% royalties, however, is only for U.S. authors, the authors outside the U.S. still 35%. Smashwords paid through PayPal, Amazon sends checks in the mail. In Smashwords tax problems for vendors outside the United States can be avoided, everything is explained Smashwords web page. By contrast, Lulu is the United Kingdom, but the authors everywhere.
