EBook files can be read on a desktop computer?
I'm downloading a torrent of a book that I have to try to find and compressed with a lot of other books and I think it means for e-book reader … I know ahead of time that is in fact possible to read e-books on a desktop pc. if a program is involved please let me know! 
Yes you can read eBooks on a standard computer. Normally ebooks are in pdf format. Depending on the format you have to find the right software. Just type the extension of the three characters after the last point in Google to find out what software can be used to read. Hope this helps
